It’s almost Epiphany. This means I should probably post some photos from Christmas.
Carolyn visited me a few days before Christmas. We ate sushi and omelets and drank beer. Not in the same meal. She also taught me cool Salvadoran slang — I think she said “que cabra!” is a popular phrase. I think the translation has something to do with a goat. I’ve started saying it quite frequently, despite the fact that I don’t know what it means.
She brought me fabulous coffee from El Salvador. I should probably move there. If only I knew how to say more than “goat”…
My dad got Iowa whiskey for Christmas. He was happy. Just look at that happy dad.
He also got a present from my grandma’s cat (affectionately named Brown Kitty) — Brown Kitty got him a white kitty. Although Brown Kitty lacks opposable thumbs, she can shop! What a kitty!
Grandma got an Iowa Hawkeye sock monkey. I like to think of it as a game day helper monkey. Perhaps the helper monkey can operate a remote.
My mom got bubble wrap. She was pleased.
And now, I must get to bed. My 2012 goal of getting to bed earlier really cuts into my evening play time. Also, my goal of drinking more water cuts into my sleeping time.
In 2013, I resolve to stop making conflicting resolutions.
