A Tuesday Poem

I’d never seen a yellow eggplant,

I’d never hoped to see one.

But I can tell you anyhow,

I’d rather see than be one.

It’s true. I grew a yellow eggplant. I’ve kept it away from the purple eggplant so the big yellow guy doesn’t get teased.

Perhaps the yellow eggplant is jaundice.

I think it is noteworthy that the yellow eggplant was at one point purple…I think it got scared of being eaten so it turned itself yellow in hopes of avoiding that fate.
